From a town that is filled with history and heritage comes Wales’s newest brewery. I will be writing a blog every week to keep you all up to date with all things Tinworks.
Firstly let me introduce myself. My name is Matthew. I’m the owner/brewer at Tinworks. I am the one man playing all the instruments at the brewery. It’s been around 10 years since I picked up a home brew kit and I haven’t stopped dreaming about opening my very own brewery.
Ten months ago I decided to take the plunge! The first headache was coming up with a name. I didn’t only have to come up with a name for the brewery but for our first born child as well. It was a lot easier to name Annie let me tell you. But on those sleepiness nights I started thinking about what Llanelli is known and loved for. It was obvious, it had to be Tinworks Brewing Co. I wanted to bring Llanelli’s history back alive. Remind people that Llanelli is a great town and it has been for centuries.
Looking forward we want to make Tinworks a household name in Wales. With everyone’s support we want to expand to a bigger premises by the end of the year. We are currently brewing on a 200 litre system. We would love to be brewing on a 1500 litre system or even more. Then we will be able to stock a Tinworks Bar that we will hope to open beginning of next year.
I’ll be back with another blog next week. But if we can answer any questions please send us a message and we will try our best to answer.
But for now it’s back to brewing our core range. Getting them spot on ready for release.
